My First Garden

Today, while out running errands we found this little cherry tomato growing kit at Lowes. Right away, I spotted Elmo on the front of it, so of course my mom had to get it for me. Here are a few pictures of me planting my first garden.

Getting set up on the front porch with our seeds and supplies.
First, we put these peat disks in the bottom of each container.
Concentrating very hard. Mom usually only counts to three, so counting to six is a little more difficult.
Next, we had to add two teaspoons of water to each container, which made the disks expand and turn into the soil where our seeds would grow. I loved this part because I got to get water everywhere!
Then, after Mom put a few seeds in each container, I had got to press the seeds down into the soil with my "shovel", overwise known as a popsicle stick.
Still pressing...
I really did have a good time even though this picture doesn't depict it! Finally we put the lid over the plants, creating a mini greenhouse and placed our plants in the sun. We are hoping that these plants will start to sprout just in time for us to transplant them into the beds at our new house! Stay tuned...
